Congratulations to Gavin Niese for participating in the Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest!
Here is Gavin's artist statement on his piece:
In the first days of my senior year in high school, I made a proud decision to join the Air National Guard, a choice that fills me with a sense of pride and honor. This artwork, created using scratch art, is a tribute to all of the prior and current members of the military that have decided to serve. I chose to depict a jet, as it depicts the strength of not just our Air Force but the nation as a whole. I decided to base the title of my project off of the first line of the Air Force song, as it brings me pride and honor every time I hear it. Scratch art is an intricate process that needs the patience and dedication that is also required in the armed services. I'm honored to contribute to the traditions of service, and I hope my work inspires others to appreciate the sacrifices made by those in service.

The Putnam County Fine Arts Fest was recently held. Congratulations to Anna Niese and Mya Brown for receiving Best of Show awards on their amazing artworks. Also, congratulations to Anna Niese and Isabelle Rieman for receiving 4 Year Art Honors. These two talented students have earned ribbons for the past four years.
